IKO shingles are a popular brand in the US. IKO is know for the Cambridge shingle line with an exceptional reputation for durability. A printed nail line guides installers to position and fasten shingles correctly ensuring the IKO FastLock sealant strips properly activate by the sun’s heat after installation. IKO shingles have embedded special algae-resistant granules to prevent blue-green algae streaking causing discoloration.

Tamko is another top brand in the U.S. and has been manufacturing shingles since 1944. Tamko produces the popular Heritage line and in recent years has released the Titan XT and StormFighter FLEX lines. Both Titan and StormFighter lines can warrant wind speeds up to 160 mph. The Titan XT shingle is certified for UL Class 3 Impact Resistance and the StormFighter FLEX is certified for UL Class 4 Impact Resistance.  If you don’t need the upgrade to impact resistance but like the color and style, the Heritage line may be for you.
